SLO Revo
Mobile Software, Information, and Resources
SLO Revo, based in San Luis Obispo, CA, has been a mobile-computing pioneer since 1993 when we started publishing Handheld Systems, a mobile software developer magazine. Handheld Systems ceased publication in 1999. We also created and maintained The Mobile Almanac, an on-line web site for mobile computing products and services. That site was decommissioned in 2000.

We released the industry's first commercial Palm OS-compatible application, WorldTime, in 1996, only two months after the introduction of the original Palm Pilot. It's successor, WorldFAQâ„¢, is one of the most widely-distributed Palm travel applications. Other commercial palm products include TimeWarp, WorldFAQ Currencies, WorldFAQ Electrics, and WorldFAQ Flags.

Our current activities focus on consulting and applications development for third parties on a contract basis. Recent clients include Sprint, HorusVision, Landware, HandSignal, Checkpoint, and CVS Caremark. We have extensive expertise in software for Palm-compatible smartphones, including wireless connectivity and messaging.

SLO Revo's president, Steve Mann, is author of Programming Applications with the Wireless Application Protocol, co-author with Ray Rischpater of Advanced Palm Programming, and co-author with Scott Sbihli of The Wireless Application Protocol, a Wiley Tech Brief.
